Armada


Iniciación a la investigación en Madrid con CARMENCITA

La Armada se enmarca dentro del Máster de Astrofísica de la UCM y de la preparación científica del proyecto CARMENES (Calar Alto high-Resolution search for M dwarfs with Exoearths with Near-infrared and optical Échelle Spectrographs). Nuestro objetivo es caracterizar cuidadosamente la muestra inicial de más de 2000 estrellas enanas de tipo espectral M, a la que llamamos CARMENCITA, de entre las que se seleccionarán las 300 mejores estrellas para la búsqueda de exotierras por el método de velocidad radial. Para ello, es necesario recopilar la mayor cantidad posible de información fotométrica, espectroscóspica, astromética y de actividad. La mayor parte de este trabajo es realizado por estudiantes de doctorado y máster de la UCM.
