  HIRES: High Resolution optical-infrared Spectrograph (E-ELT)

  HIRES is the project of a high resolution spectrograph with wide, simultaneous
  spectral coverage from the optical to the near infrared for the E-ELT. It
  follows the previous Phase A studies of CODEX and SIMPLE, accordingly to the
  new ESO roadmap for the first generation of E-ELT instruments. An overview of
  the science case, of the top level requirements, and of the modular instrument
  concept will be presented.
